Job Description
HCOS has an opening for a full-time, Inclusive Education (IE) Regional Administrator. This is a remote, permanent position, working 40 hours per week. The primary purpose of this position is to provide regional IE leadership for the Lower Mainland, including supporting IE Case Managers (CMs)/teachers and Learning Support Coaches (LSCs) and administration in collaboration and support of the IE Assistant Director: Programming
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with administrators to promote school-wide goals and contribute to the success of the division, including participating in the Regional Leadership Team (RLT)
Provide professional development for K-12 teachers and administrators on inclusive education practices
Hire and assign IE CMs/teachers and LSCs
Offer leadership, support, and oversight to IE staff in creating and implementing individualized student programs, including education plans, report cards, and case notes
Manage regional LSCs by approving leave requests, conducting evaluations, and providing ongoing training and support
Interview prospective families and work with the Registrar to admit IE students
Collaborate with K-9 RAs for student intake with learning needs
Foster positive relationships between parents, teachers, and education assistants across departments
Support Learning Group (LG) activities, including Community Connections (CCs) and CC+s
Lead regional Student at Risk Teams (SRTs) and assist with category designation applications
Oversee financial approvals for IE student support and manage regional budget(s)
Ensure consistency and adherence to processes in collaboration with IE and EA offices
Stay current through continuous professional development
Job Requirements
Demonstrates a commitment to, and a lifestyle reflective of, the KCCS Foundational Beliefs
Current BC Certified teacher with IE specialty and experience required
Knowledge of the BC Ministry’s Special Education Categories
Strong leadership skills
Ability to manage change and adapt to varied workloads
Excellent conflict management, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
Proactive, systems thinking, relationship and solution-oriented
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Google docs, etc.
