Job Description
Pacific Academy is seeking a .5 Head of Student Support & Well-being and .5 Curriculum Coordinator to commence August 15, 2025. As an integral member of the Team, the successful candidate will coordinate student support services across the school.
As Curriculum Coordinator the successful team member will play a key role in developing, implementing, and refining the curriculum across all grade levels (K-12). The Head of Student Support & Well-being will lead the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive, school-wide inclusive education programme including learning support and counselling services.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Program Development
Build collaborative relationships with students, staff, parents, and support agencies.
Lead the planning and delivery of student support services from Junior Kindergarten to High School.
Ensure students’ personal and learning needs are met through appropriate interventions and referrals.
Oversee student support policies and initiatives, ensuring alignment with best practices.
Maintain professional networks for student services.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and staff to ensure the curriculum aligns with performance standards.
Support the Curriculum Development Teams through their curriculum review cycles.
Support the implementation and ongoing use of Toddle, our Teaching and Learning Platform.
Professional Development
Organize and facilitate professional development sessions for teachers on curriculum design, instructional strategies, and effective use of our Teaching and Learning Platforms.
Provide ongoing support and coaching to teachers in implementing curriculum and integrating Toddle into their teaching practices.
Identify and coordinate professional development for student support staff.
Lead onboarding and supervision of the student support team.
Student Learning
Oversee the Student Support and Well-being budget.
Manage student support data, track service effectiveness, and ensure compliance with Ministry of Education and Child Care guidelines.
Analyze data from assessments to inform curriculum adjustments and instructional practices.
Support teachers in using assessment data to differentiate instruction and improve student outcomes.
Review Inclusive Education funding designations for students included on the MECC 1701 report. Safeguarding & Student Access
Collaborate with staff on serious academic and behavioural concerns, recommending appropriate actions.
Collaborate with Admissions on evaluating prospective students requiring support services.
Support the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Student Support Plans.
Ensure students receive necessary accommodations and access arrangements.
Ensure proper documentation and confidentiality of student concerns and support plans.
Accreditations & Policy Compliance
Ensure school compliance with BC Ministry of Education standards.
Evaluate and improve student support programs based on benchmarks and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills
Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
Experience in crisis management, safeguarding, and policy implementation.
Ability to manage budgets, student data, and professional development initiatives.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate must:
Hold a valid BC teaching certificate.
Have an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education and to upholding Christian values.
Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith.
Have a passion for supporting students' holistic development.
Possess a Master’s degree in special education or related field.
Have at least 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience.
Have excellent communication, collaboration and organizational skills.
