Job Description
Kelowna Christian School is inviting dynamic, BC-certified educators who demonstrate a commitment to Christian Education and a passion for deepening students’ service to God and others as disciples of Jesus. Successful candidates must demonstrate an ability to provide differentiated programming and innovatively deliver curriculum competencies within a highly collaborative team environment that fully engages students in learning.
Particular responsibilities of the role include:
Plan and prepare learning activities that support the BC music curriculum
Engage students with creative instruction so as to inspire a love and appreciation of music
Teach Senior and Grade 9 Band classes, as well as other possible musical groups (e.g. Jazz Band)
Proactively communicate and proactively collaborate with administration, staff, and parents
Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement, providing individualized feedback and written reports
Coordinate school performances for the community and KCS supporters
Plan experiential learning opportunities such as festival performances, music field trips, and band trips
Be involved in the school drama production if it is a musical
Other courses can be added to the FTE depending on the teacher’s qualifications

Be committed to lifelong learning
Be comfortable working in an information technology-rich environment
Teacher applicants should meet, at minimum, the following qualifications:
A Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent.
